This brave 14-year old was left at home to care for his 11-year old sister and 2-year old brother when suddenly there was wild banging on the front door. A woman had been screaming to be allowed inside the house and he couldn’t help but let her in, even if he knew he was the only one there taking care of his siblings. Apparently, the woman had gotten away from her assailant and she needed rescuing.

Lucky for her he let her in because a few minutes later, her attacker would be right on her tail.

The establishment has long used the term “conspiracy theory” to discredit any idea in the public sphere that has anti-establishment leanings or runs counter to the government’s narrative regarding an event or situation. In 1967, the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) wrote a dispatch which coined the term to discredit those Americans who were not content with the findings of the Warren Commission following the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. The dispatch, which was obtained by the New York Times in 1976, was part of the CIA’s Clandestine Services (CS) unit and was classified as “psychological operations.” The document also lays out the exact arguments used by the establishment for years to discredit certain theories such as: claiming that eyewitness testimony is unreliable, claiming that it’s irresponsible to speculate, claiming its impossible for so many people to keep quiet about large conspiracies, claiming conspiracy theorists are politically or financially motivated in the promotion of these theories and refocusing attention on “official” reports.

Despite the CIA’s best efforts, the belief in conspiracy theories remains alive and well in the United States and many once-ridiculed conspiracies have been proven to be fact as information became declassified and publicly available. In fact, the assassination of President Kennedy has long been the most widely believed “conspiracy theory” among the US populace, with over 60% of Americans believing that Kennedy’s death was part of a larger conspiracy and not the work of a lone gunman. Now, another “conspiracy theory” is approaching that same level of acceptance as over half of Americans do not believe that government’s official narrative regarding the September 11^th attacks.

According to a survey conducted by Chapman University, 54.3% of Americans now believe that the government is covering up information related to the 9/11 attacks. Indeed, the 9/11 commission is widely believed to have been “set up to fail,” not unlike the Warren commission, and then-President Bush even tried to appoint war criminal Henry Kissinger as its overseer. This increase is possibly do the significant evidence compiled by groups of professionals such as Architects and Engineers for 9/11 truth and Pilots for 9/11 truth. It is also possible that increasing distrust of the government could also be to blame. The Chapman survey also found that the “top fear” of 2016 among Americans was the corruption of government officials.

In addition, it is also possible that recent developments this year have resulted in a majority of Americans questioning what really happened on September 11^th. This year, previously withheld documents were released, implicating Saudi Arabia in the attacks. Congress even passed a bill allowing 9/11 victims and their family’s to sue the Middle Eastern monarchy. The move actually caused several prominent Saudis to say that the Saudi’s were only involved as part of the US’ plan to carry out the attacks in order to justify a global, never-ending “War on Terror.”

In addition, during the Presidential Election campaign, Donald Trump promised to re-open the 9/11 investigation on more than one occasion, drawing attention to the speculation surrounding the true nature of the attacks. Interestingly, Trump himself was one of the first people to suggest that bombs had been used to bring down the Twin Towers, which scientific studies have now confirmed as fact. Trump, in an interview that took place the same day as the attack, said “I happen to think that they had not only a plane but they had bombs that exploded almost simultaneously, because I just can’t imagine anything being able to go through that wall.”

With half of Americans as well as the President-Elect questioning the official 9/11 narrative, it appears that the “conspiracy theorist” pejorative has run out of steam. Perhaps that’s why the media and the political establishment are now all abuzz over “fake news,” opting for direct censorship over ridicule.

15 years after the iconic attacks that killed thousands and traumatized many more, a number of the questions surrounding the incident, including those posed by victim’s families, remain unanswered by the U.S. government’s official account of September 11^th. Though 9/11 “conspiracy theorists” or “truthers” have been ridiculed and reviled by the mainstream for much of the last 15 years, many of the holes in the official story are becoming known to more and more people, especially following the release of previously classified information earlier this year which implied Saudi Arabia knew about the attacks in advance. Saudi Arabia responded by calling 9/11 an “inside job,” saying that 9/11 was planned and carried out strictly within the United States.

Increased awareness of the 9/11 truth movement can also be attributed to tireless activism by the families of 9/11 victims, the alternative media, certain politicians such as former Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney as well as organizations of professionals who question the official narrative. Architects & Engineers for 9/11 truth is one such organization of over 2,600 professional architects and engineers who say that fires from the planes’ impact and residual jet fuel could not possibly have been the cause of the towers’ collapse 15 years ago today.

Other similar organizations, including Pilots for 9/11 truth, point out similar incongruities based on their professional expertise. However, for many people who have not been exposed to the long list of absurdities that make up the government’s official 9/11 story, beginning the search for 9/11 truth can be overwhelming. For those who are interested, a video released a few years ago by the Corbett report encapsulates all of the key points that obliterate the government’s narrative and it takes less than 5 minutes to watch. The video highlights the most contentious issues at the center of 9/11 truth arguments, including the collapse of WTC-7, the $2.3 trillion that went missing from the Pentagon the day before, and the destruction of evidence by federal agencies following the attacks. It also touched on some important eyewitnesses, such as Barry Jennings, whose testimonies did not match the official account of events. Several of these eyewitnesses, including Jennings himself, have met untimely deaths in recent years.

However, some important aspects of 9/11 truth were not covered in the short video. For example, at least 7 of the 9/11 hijackers are still alive and several of them had reported their passports missing prior to the attack. Also, the World Trade Center complex changed owners for the first time in its history only a few months before the attack to a private firm owned by Larry Silverstein. Silverstein changed the security detail to Securacom (now Stratesec), whose CEO was then Bush’s cousin. Bush’s brother, Marvin Bush, was also on its board of directors. Securacom also provided security for United Airlines and Dulles International Airport at the time of the 9/11 attack. Silverstein later made nearly $5 billion in insurance payouts following the collapse of the twin towers. With more US citizens waking up to government corruption in recent years, we can only hope that 15 years after the attacks, more people will begin demanding answers and accountability for those truly responsible. Better late than never.

Terrorism, unfortunately, has been attributed to Islam, thanks to a few extremists who give the religious sect a bad name. From the Al Qaeda to ISIS, most people, whether they would like to admit it or not, now feel uncomfortable whenever they see Moslems boarding an aircraft or walking inconspicuously towards a crowded park.

To date, there are almost 100 deaths reported caused by violent jihadist attacks, doubling that of the acts of terrorism that the U.S. have been going through that are not related to Islamic extremists. Unfortunately for the rest of us, there are even more things that we should be worried about more than this terror, and here are 10 of them.

1. Television

According to a recent study referenced by USA Today, people who watch TV for more than three hours a day were twice at risk of suffering an early death compared to those who watch less. Also, the study found that watching TV kills brain cells so you’re probably better off trying to get some sun a bit outside.

2. Fireworks

Every year, a minimum of seven deaths are reported during the Fourth of July weekend, that’s according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. And just so you know, that’s a half more than the casualties recorded coming from Islamic terror attacks, which stand at 3.2 fatalities annually. This means that people are more than likely to blow themselves up than getting bombed by a jihadist extremist – making you think twice before you gawk over those pretty little sparkly things.
